About Gagauzia.com

An independent guide to one of Europe’s least-visited regions.

Gagauzia.com exists because good, practical travel information about Gagauzia is hard to find in any language. We wanted one place that explains who the Gagauz are, what there is to see, how to get there and what a visit is really like — without exaggeration.

What we do

We research and write guides to the towns, villages, museums and wineries of Gagauzia and to the places most travellers combine with it. We compare the tours that can actually be booked, and we say so plainly when choice is limited — as it is here.

How we work

  • Accuracy over colour. Where we are not sure of an opening time, a price or a date, we say “check locally” rather than guess.
  • Real products only. Every tour we list is a real GetYourGuide product, with ratings and review counts taken from GetYourGuide itself.
  • Neutral on politics. This is a travel guide. We describe the region’s status in one factual sentence and leave the rest to others.
  • Respect for the place. We encourage visitors to hire local guides, eat in local homes and buy from local producers.

How the site is funded

Gagauzia.com is free to read. If you book a tour or a hotel through our links we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. That is our only income; see the affiliate disclosure for details.

Corrections

Timetables, opening hours and prices change, and small places change fastest. If you spot something out of date, please tell us at [email protected] — we would be grateful.

Plan your day in the south

Comrat, a village museum and a Gagauz table — in one day

Gagauzia is under two hours from Chișinău, but its museums and wineries are scattered across the steppe and village buses are thin. A guided day trip joins the dots and adds the stories.
